Great to see the opposition, but they should realize elections are too important for people with power to let the public decide them. The UK doesn't have a half-decent party of any size anyway. Whoever would replace Starmer and the Labor party would only be maybe 5% less bad.
There's no way in hell it will actually get it's stated goal by petition signatories alone. It's biggest value is in showing how many Brits have had enough and letting them all see how many people they could have at their backs if they all stopped pussing out of holding their gov accountable.

Your second sentence explains why the people in power don't care who people vote for. Especially in the British parliamentary system, since they don't vote directly for the PM.
From what I recall Reform has been gaining substantially with recent elections and is poised to overtake the Tories. But they're not much different because most of their members are former Tories and they say all the same things only they say they want less migration (but not remigration!). They don't want justice for COVID tyranny and elite pedophilia, they don't want freedom of speech, fixing the legal system, purging wokeness, or anything else important.

So basically a giant red flag for the gov to increase policing?
You already need a loicence with photo ID to access increasingly large chunks the Internet. They make up whatever excuse and do it no matter what.

Right, but as soon as any anti-establishment party becomes popular they will try to ban them or rig the elections

Reform is controlled by the same people working Labour and the Tories like meat puppets. Nigel Farage is literally a textbook judas goat.
The UK is cooked.
