x-men was not about civil rights. mutants is just an easy way to not have to come up with reasons or backstories for how someone got powers.
black panther is not about civil rights. what does an african tribal chief have to do with american civil rights?
captain america fought whoever the current enemy was.
the empire did nothing wrong.
The left's insistence on appropriating X-Men as some civil rights allegory isnt the win they think it is. There are mutants that could accidentally destroy entire cities, they're a legitimate danger.
Nobody should look at X-Men as allegories for their pet political movements, left or right.
A large number of the mutants are practical nukes with legs and a very unstable mentality. Of course the normal population distrust them if a sneeze can vaporize an entire neighborhood
or you just wake up one day and your very presence killed an entire town and everyone you know while you were asleep.
