I'm mostly just here to laugh at the drama, but for the record I think this was probably undeserved, and I was hoping for at least a couple more days of Imp shitting up the board with his nonsense, before the inevitable ban.
It's odd that "Blame women or shut up" is the part Dom objected to. Due to the phrasing, that doesn't seem to meet the usual (and retarded) R16 criteria. It seems like you can demand other people believe your theories about who is to blame for every ill in the world, the main focus is on actual personal opinions on those people.
Interestingly, the rest of Imp's comment is closer to a R16 violation:
A class with scientifically proven strong in-group biases will always end up doing the same thing. Women are the worst of these, with the strongest biases.
Anyway, as disappointing as this may be to some (and relieving to others), it really is ultimately Imp's fault. Imp will never be able to get out of his own way, and always makes these big sweeping generalizations that, no matter how we all feel about R16, are clear R16 violations. He would have been banned soon anyway, because he can't fucking help himself.
He could say practically the exact same things, with slightly different phrasing, and it would be fine, but he's so wrapped up in his over the top global female conspiracy that he just has to smash people in the face with his retarded and universal phrasing on the issue.
Anyway, I thought people would be interested to hear Imp got the boot again. 400 days, according to the mod logs. Not sure if that's a permaban or not, as I thought 365 was the max and next one was a perma. So we'll have to wait another year+ to see if Imp comes back to get banned again.
This has been your yearly Imp Update.
This is unfortunate and I think he should get unbanned - and this is apart from the fact that I find him entertaining.
For several reasons:
The goal for bans should be, except for some truly bad actors, to get people to behave, not necessarily to punish. There are better ways to get the Imp to behave than to slap him with a 400 day ban for a single comment that is honestly not even that bad.
I want him banned but I want him to earn his ban. This was not a judicious application of the banhammer even if it swinging was inevitable.
Why do you want him banned though? Because he is disruptive?
There are other crazy people, but for some reason, people find it impossible to ignore Imp.
I guess when it gets right down to it I want him banned because .win's block function doesn't work properly. He creates ungodly levels of noise on the forum to the point where it's almost impossible to function with him here, similar to how the pedo pajeet was, only somehow even more omnipresent. But because blocking him doesn't actually prevent me from seeing all of his posts, just his threads, it means my forum experience becomes severely degraded similar to if a bot farm was spamming every thread on the site.
I think there is some truth to the fact that people follow him around and mass report him. He used to be paranoid about ConPro doing it before his last (or maybe the one before that) ban, and while it was deflection on people just not liking him it was certainly suspicious that he could post something and have 5+ downvotes within minutes every single time in threads with no other comments.
Who is doing it, I won't speculate. He makes lots of enemies and there are plenty of pockets of petty autists all over this site for all sorts of reasons. But I imagine it makes quite a Modque that will summon Dom from his eternal slumber and make him look far more disruptive than people who do the same thing as him but don't have that eye brought on them.
Yes. The mod queue gives moderators a distorted view of how things really are.
