Them not accepting that certain genres tend to appeal to more men than women has definitely ruined gaming and comics. Notice that nobody is trying to ruin romance novels
They're not even trying to make them appeal to women, they're trying to "educate" the men playing them and to "correct" historical wrongs by making men emotional and the women girl-bosses.
Not once have they thought what women like to do/play and give them more of that.

It’s a negative mating strategy. Women that can’t get quality mates tried redefining what that is so they could all have access to better mates. They’ve even gone so far as to attempt making people think quality mates are actually the fugly ones.
You’ll never once see shows with fat and frumpy acceptance for men.
