We are called to be good stewards of everything under our care, including our wives, children, community, government, nation, home, land, pets, and animals. Anyone who displays cruelty to animals is expressing what lies in their hearts, which will negatively color everything else they do.

Define "we". If a dog is cruel to a cat does that violate God's will?
What if a German shepherd is cruel to a Chihuahua?
Those are different species. It would be unfair to apply human standards to animals.
