Meh. It's not like the existence of this sort of thing is bad on it's own, as it's pretty much just fantasy the same way many of us like games which don't reflect reality faithfully. The only reason it's been a problem is society fetishized it so much that was practically the only thing produced, while also actively campaigning to ruin the lives of anyone who tried to make something different.
Yea there was a time I wouldn’t have batted an eye but like you said they are hyper obsessed with over representation of black, female, lgbt. But I still generally rarely watch anything made after 2014. Was watching Sanford and Son and Leave it to Beaver the other night
Been watching Hogan's Heroes and Get Smart with the kids. GS can either be hilarious, or a bit of a miss, but HH is consistently funny episode to episode.
Started watching Home Improvement again, and as based and funny as Tim Allen is, that stage two feminism can be really blatent and cringe now. Being ground zero for the "dumb male lead" is also disappointing in hindsight, though I still give it at least a small pass for being unique for the time.
It's certainly a strange prospect watching the show now though, as Tim Taylor in the show is now younger than I am.
Did you know about the opening "sight gag" in Get Smart that no one understood?
He drove a Sunbeam Alpine in Se.1 & 2, it could be considered a "sports car" when it had the big engine in it. It was mocking the James Bond cars, eh?
But no one got it, so they gave him a Karman Ghia (VW) in Se.3 &4. In NO way was that a "sports car" 😄 although it was adorable, but still no one "got it".
In Se.05 they gave him an Opel GT which was a good car, but IDK if they changed the opening from the Ghia or not. I think not.
Anyhow, it was a great show even if there were some "dud" episodes.

I'm gonna be real, I'm more confused after reading your post than before.
Love Hogan’s Heroes and Get Smart has some very funny jokes. I do notice that with Home Improvement but I’ll still watch a rerun when I come across it
Basically its intent. Their intentions of having said character.
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
