Good in concept:

just like a credit card or debit card
no more 30% of all EU currency is counterfeit
almost "plug & play" since infrastructure is all in place.

Except that:

now the government controls your money
every transaction will be recorded, tracked and taxed
any purchase OR sale will be "government approved" or it won't happen. So good luck selling your vintage comic books since those are banned for 'reasons'.
