People die all the time. Maybe you're just old enough that the people you know of are passing away. When you were younger, you didn't know/care about celebrity obituaries.

It's pretty easy to know things and never think of them when you're repeating trained patterns, as most people do in their daily lives.
That’s very true also. I was a shithead teen when people were like, “OMG, did you hear Frank Sinatra died?!”
I barely knew or cared at the time.
I’m sure if I told my son that Jon Bon Jovi just had a head on collision on the i90, he’d be the same.
It’s all relative to how famous the celebrity was during your prime years, I guess.
