in india and china (im of chinese descent) you do anything to get ahead. lie, cheat, fraud, bribery. not everyone, but its a common culture. yeah.. we got corruption in the USA too, but its not in the culture itself.
Oh it's common in the US culture now too, you just have to be quieter about it. The only ones holding out are the poor bastards left with genes that make them deeply uncomfortable with cheating and villainy. And those lineages are slowly being wiped out.

And those of us who are repeatedly punished for even the most minor of wrong doing, it beats the willingness to take any risk out of us.
