Whoever’s talking about cable tv being dead aside from sports, got me thinking about all the junk channels I can watch at my parents. WHO is watching some of this stuff?
No one, they get bundled with the channels that peopled do watch. It's been a scam that way for a very long time. You want Cartoon Network and Comedy Central? Here, have all these other channels you don't care about to go along with 'em. No you can't pick and choose and pay less for fewer options.
True, but what’s the point of making them if you aren’t pulling an audience, fluff? At least with reruns of older TV shows and movies it makes sense, you only need to pay for distribution license (or not even that if you own it all).
There are retards willing to pay for premium packages for access to a channel or two. That channel or two may vary from retard to retard, but it keeps the scam going. Cable is going to die with the Boomers because they're the only ones willing to put up with that crap.
I quit TV back in like 2008 because of the realization that I was paying 60 bucks a month to watch three channels (sci-fi, history, and cartoon network) because each was part of a separate package. I just cut the cable and never went back.

It's a real wonder why people are pirating the content that's worth watching, isn't it?

Even some Boomers are over it. Even my 80 year old grandmother canceled her cable and just watches YouTube and YouTubeTV
Its mostly old gospel music, but still.
