By the fourth century, Christianity had become the dominant religion in the Roman empire. A long series of enactments deprived Jewish people of their rights as citizens, prevented them from fulfilling their religious obligations, and excluded them from the society of their fellows.
Had Islam not come along, Jewry in the west would have declined to disappearance and Jewry in the east would have become just another oriental cult. With contact cut off from Babylon, Jewish life in the Christian world was doomed.
The Islamic conquests of the seventh century changed the world, and did so with dramatic, wide-ranging and permanent effect for the Jews. Within a century of the death of Mohammad, in 632, Muslim armies had conquered almost the whole of the world where Jews lived, from Spain eastward across North Africa and the Middle East. Fortunes improved dramatically: Almost all the Jews in the world were now ruled by Islam. This new situation transformed Jewish existence. Their fortunes changed in legal, demographic, social, religious, political, geographical, economic, linguistic and cultural terms - all for the better.

By the early seventh century Judaism was in crisis. In the Mediterranean basin it was battered by legal, social, and religious pressure, weak in numbers and culturally almost non-existent. It was also largely cut off from the Jewry of the Persian empire, in Babylon, present-day Iraq. The future seemed clear: extinction in the west, decline to obscurity in the east. Salvation came from Arabia. Islam conquered the entire Persian empire and most of the Mediterranean world. Uniting virtually all the world’s Jews in a single state, it gave them legal and religious respectability, economic and social freedoms, and linguistic and cultural conditions that made possible a major renaissance of Judaism and the Jews. The significance of Islam for Jewry has been interpreted very variously since the middle ages and is a source of controversy to this day.
Muslims conquered parts of the West in the 7th century and then gave jews legal and religious respectability, economic and social freedoms which led to jews rising in power.
Yet today, its "Christian" countries who are supporting jews and pushing invasion on to muslim countries to force regime change on the anti jewish governments of muslim countries and replacing them with governments that are more favorable to jews.
Yet i wonder why did the muslim countries gave the jews so much freedom before? i am curious as to how much influence jews had in muslim countries a thousand years ago.
And it was jews that opened the gates of Toledo that allowed the muslim invaders in , in the 7th and 8th centuries..Both Latin and Arabic chroniclers record that "the Jews of the city opened the gates of Toledo” to Tariq, who conquered the city.

I've heard theories that Mohhamed was trained by jews. There are many passages in the Quran that are very similar to the Talmud.
I'm not going to pretend to be an expert on the subject, but a quick search seems to show it's pretty well documented. Historians claim this, and Jews also cheer this on. It's not some fringe conspiracy theory, to say the least.
Muslim invaders would even leave some cities under Jewish control as they went on to conquer more cities. Toledo, as OP mentioned, is an example of this; Jews opened the gates, Muslims came in and won against the Catholics, then fucked off to conquer other cities...leaving the Jewish rebels to rule in their stead while they were gone. And that's not the only time that happened. They chain conquered some cities and left the Jews in charge.
A lot of Jews also sided with the Muslims during the Crusades. And they were allowed back into Jerusalem under Saladin, as well as given other benefits.
I don't get why you're acting like it's so unreasonable. A bunch of Jews sided with the Muslims - or against the Catholics, whichever way you want to look at it - and were rewarded for it by the Muslims.
It was mixed. Some Muslims tried to force convert the Jews, but there were also times they were given positions of power, and the Muslims generally didn't expel the Jews from the regions they controlled, and not in big numbers. They might exile individuals, but they didn't 'expel the Jews' like many other rulers.
Muslims expulsion and extreme persecution of the Jews is a more recent thing, largely in the leadup to and subsequent existence of Israel in the region, which largely changed the perception of "Jew" in the region.
This isn't a new tactic by Muslim invaders. It's much easier to control a newly conquered city by making sure you have loyalist elites. But the loyalty of inferior people is never that desirable.
Muslims don't allow Kufar and Infidels to exist in larger numbers. That's the point. Yes, the Christians didn't get appreciated by Jews in Muslim occupied territories in the crusade... because the Christians killed them to. Foreign murderer is worse than current tyrant.
Yes, that's the result of Socialism via both Zionism and Pan-Arabism. My point here is that Islam is not kind to people it sees as inherently inferior. OP is trying to act like Jews and Muslims got along great, and really just conspired together because they are evil.
Truth is, Islam saw jews as occasionally useful creatures that could be killed without notice because of that rejection of God and their innate inferiority. That's not a good way to live, and it's not better than the typically peaceful Christians. Even the Catholics, even the Protestants, and certainly even the Orthodox.
