By the fourth century, Christianity had become the dominant religion in the Roman empire. A long series of enactments deprived Jewish people of their rights as citizens, prevented them from fulfilling their religious obligations, and excluded them from the society of their fellows.

Had Islam not come along, Jewry in the west would have declined to disappearance and Jewry in the east would have become just another oriental cult. With contact cut off from Babylon, Jewish life in the Christian world was doomed.

The Islamic conquests of the seventh century changed the world, and did so with dramatic, wide-ranging and permanent effect for the Jews. Within a century of the death of Mohammad, in 632, Muslim armies had conquered almost the whole of the world where Jews lived, from Spain eastward across North Africa and the Middle East. Fortunes improved dramatically: Almost all the Jews in the world were now ruled by Islam. This new situation transformed Jewish existence. Their fortunes changed in legal, demographic, social, religious, political, geographical, economic, linguistic and cultural terms - all for the better.

It was also largely cut off from the Jewry of the Persian empire, in Babylon, present-day Iraq. The future seemed clear: extinction in the west, decline to obscurity in the east. Salvation came from Arabia. Islam conquered the entire Persian empire and most of the Mediterranean world. Uniting virtually all the world’s Jews in a single state, it gave them legal and religious respectability, economic and social freedoms, and linguistic and cultural conditions that made possible a major renaissance of Judaism and the Jews. The significance of Islam for Jewry has been interpreted very variously since the middle ages and is a source of controversy to this day.

Muslims conquered parts of the West in the 7th century and then gave jews legal and religious respectability, economic and social freedoms which led to jews rising in power.

Yet today, its "Christian" countries who are supporting jews and pushing invasion on to muslim countries to force regime change on the anti jewish governments of muslim countries and replacing them with governments that are more favorable to jews.

Yet i wonder why did the muslim countries gave the jews so much freedom before? i am curious as to how much influence jews had in muslim countries a thousand years ago.

And it was jews that opened the gates of Toledo that allowed the muslim invaders in , in the 7th and 8th centuries..Both Latin and Arabic chroniclers record that "the Jews of the city opened the gates of Toledo” to Tariq, who conquered the city.

I've heard theories that Mohhamed was trained by jews. There are many passages in the Quran that are very similar to the Talmud.
