I believe so - I've seen that cited as an explanation for why conservative areas in the US have higher divorce rates than progressive areas.
Alternatively, progressives get married less frequently, so it may be a matter that those that do have a more solid relationship. In conservative areas, the expectation would be that you get married, and thus more marriages and more less solid marriages.
