Someone once claimed that women have a severe empathy lack for things they can't see - so when a man goes to work to fund their married lifestyle, it isn't real to them. So when a man comes home, exhausted from work, the woman is incapable of understanding what he's been through and is instead comparing everything she's done that day to his 'nothing'.
I really want to argue against the man's claims, but damn, is it hard.
That's not really a new take. Women are solipsists. Not as a philosophical position, but certainly in terms of the way they interact with the world. Everything exists as a reflection of their own needs and desires and if it isn't relevant to them, it doesn't exist.
