Historically, commies had hated the rainbows as much if not more. Read about Stalin, Mao or El Che, gays are seen as bourgeois decadence.

They also (along with Jews) pushed homosexuality to help destabilize other countries and prep them for a revolution. Then, after gaining control, more opportunistic members kill the revolutionaries and old leadership to consolidate power.
It's a pretty well known pattern
