In 1993, I was 12 and saw Jurassic Park. I was so enthralled I read Jurassic Park and all the Michael Crichton books I could find. Crichton is probably who's canon I've read the most of.
I've read he wasn't a fan of writing 'The Lost World' and did not love the film adaptation. Outside of some initial work with Jurassic Park 3's story ideas, which he left early in the process, he never was involved with Jurassic Park again.
He died in 2008, seven years before Jurassic World came out. With JP:Rebirth being out do you think he would appreciate the direction of the franchise?
He once argued with the director of 13th Warrior so much the director quit. Crichton directed the end of the movie. He was also very anti corporate insanity. He gave several speeches and papers debunking all the big scary stuff after State of Fear was published. I pulled myself from the left after reading those speeches.
You can read or watch those speeches on his website now.

I highly doubt he would enjoy the movies except the cheque that came from it.
Director of The 13th Warrior = John McTiernan, right? Director of Predator and Die Hard? Strange.
