Nonsense like this is why I'm kind of rooting for AI controlled robots taking over medical and elder care. Or at the very least elder care.
When I catch a terminal case of teh olde I'd rather live in my own house with my robotic pal doing housework, shopping and carrying me to the toilet in my last days than be at the mercy of crazy hateful people.
Why does everyone operate under the assumption that AI will always be as stupid as it is right now, or that the scope of tasks assigned to it will not expand as it grows more capable?

Sounds great right up until the AI determines that you're a waste of resources and that it's time to terminate you for efficiency's sake.
At least it'll probably be quick and efficient. Not like being beaten to death by some violent parolee that managed to snag a job at a nursing home.
An AI trained to recognize symptoms or even perform treatment is completely orthogonal to one that would make actuarial determinations.

If it stops with just the boomers then the AI would be right
