I don't know how to say this in a way that's not offensive (because a lot of Americans seem to have issues with height), but 6' (183cm) is not considered tall in northern Europe.
What do you mean 'more like a market environment'?
A non obese 6’+ guy in America essentially has the pick of the litter if they’re not physiognomically challenged, and the average female is 5’4 while the average male is 5’9. It used to be taller but it’s not much different than Italy, where 6’ guys are far more valuable.
Not sure about Italy, but from everything I've seen, neither European men nor women are as obsessed with height as Americans are. Women want a guy taller than they are, that's it.
Because Europe isn’t as “diversified” as America is, at least not yet. If Norway was flooded with Mexican manlets height would be an every day discussion because you’d have a couple million 5’7 and under crying about it.
A lot of European countries have short men. France is a great example. But there's not this preoccupation with it as there is with America, possibly because there's not a movement persuading short men that they're victims and that nobody likes them.
In America you just have to break down all these statistics (height, weight, IQ, crime rates, etc.) by race. Europe is getting there too thanks to mass migration.
