Apparently there's a sequel planned, although it's been planned/delayed for ages, sounds like.
Also, it's now even more Current Year than it was back then, so the sequel might suck...but I'm still excited we might get even more good Alita.
Wasn't the original also something like a decade in the works? I think that was one of the last movies I saw in a theater. It was surprisingly good enough to even forget about how goofy the CGI looked at first.
Yes, it took James Cameron--a big fan of the manga--about 20 years to get that movie greenlit and made.
It's also probably the LAST good James Cameron movie.
Cameron didn't direct though, did he? I thought Robert Rodriguez had something to do with it? Or am I thinking of something else?
Or were both of them producers on it?
Rodriguez is hit or miss, but he's at least passionate about what he works on (assuming he worked on it).
