According to the journalist Barak Ravid, who seems to be close to the Israeli security establishment and for some reason was called twice by Trump in the past few days:

Netanyahu told Trump that he could not cancel the strike and that some response was needed to Iran’s violation of the ceasefire. Whether this is yet more misdirection, or good cop/bad cop, I don't know. But good thing overall.
