It may work out "well", in that he gets away with this scott-free. I'm not even sure THAT is a good thing, because it's just a set-up for greater disasters. He'll do it again but this time with Putin or Kim, and then all the world is in real trouble.
As for dooming, even if everything goes perfectly, and not one future ill effect materializes, I'm still gut-punched that he was willing to torch his entire coalition, betray the anti-war base, betray all the people who supported him and advocated him because he started no wars. And for what? For the deep state that indicted him 91 times and tried to kill him. Why? Just... why? I don't get it. Clearly, normal people don't matter if you get enough bribes from Miriam Adelson. So much for the one successful populist movement in the entire West.
And don't get me started on people who contemptibly try to defend this by saying "HE ALWAYS SAID IRAN WOULDN'T GET A NUKE".
I'm in not way willing to defend him doing it, as it was a retarded idea in all ways.
The only caveat is that its not the first time he has done this, and skated by with no consequences. The reason why MOAB entered public lexicon was one of those times, and he has quite a few more that all "succeeded" in flexing his might (and helping Israel) without any real negative consequence towards us. Which is why I'm not going to freak out that its WW3 for sure this time.
There is no real positive side to this, unless it finally starts the ball rolling on just turning that whole desert to glass and Arabs just ceasing to exist to be a problem entirely. But that's a miracle dream that no one is ready for.
