He might just be getting world wars mixed up, which I see all the time around here. Ever hear of a guy called Lawrence of Arabia? He stirred up a big Arab revolt inside the Ottoman Empire during WW1 with the promise of Arab Independence after the war, including in the Palestine region.
Unfortunately, another Brit named Balfour had promised that land to another group, so after the Ottoman Empire was dismantled the Brits ended up owning the British Mandate of Palestine and trying(failing) to satisfy two different groups they'd promised the land to, which led directly to a century of chaos and mayhem in the region. Pretty sure that's what he was talking about.
I'll accept that the Balford Declaration will piss some people off, but that's not what the Arab world sees as a "betrayal". If anything, the declaration itself is merely Great Power politics taking place on their territory that they resent not being able to control.
That's just not the same thing as Jihadism and 9/11.
They would have been better off staying part of a stable empire, but they fought and died for England instead, then England basically said, "sorry mate, we can't give you everything we promised." Of course that'll anger them, old T.E. Lawrence made a promise that couldn't be fulfilled.
Granted, those ragheaded heathens are all a bunch of jihadist assholes who would hate us regardless for being infidels, but it's understandable that they have plenty of other reasons to hate Westerners.
I can understand that betrayal, but that is mostly of the Bedowins, and they don't have any significant political power anymore. A lot of them actually participated in the Lawrence Of Arabia movie because it was a seminal part of their history. There's not too much bad blood anymore regarding that era. It's just unrelated to 9/11.
The Ottoman Empire fought and died FOR England?
Wow! Here I thought they were, in WW1, at war with England, Russia and the rest. And neutral in WW2. Silly me 😅
Bro, I'm getting second hand embarrassment from your horrible reading comprehension. That was about the Arabs who rebelled against the Ottomans with English help.

Yeah you are right, I meant WWI. It's been a long time and my memory gets hazy after 100 years.
