What's a fud?
“Fud” is a term for people who are ostensibly into guns, but generally don’t support the second amendment. Think of a guy who hunts recreationally and has his hunting rifle he likes for that, but thinks anything more powerful than his hunting rifle is “more than you need.”
I’m not entirely certain how it applies here, so maybe he means another definition, or he knows something about one of these people that I don’t.
It's also Fear Uncertainty and Doubt but I've never heard it used as a noun.
