Supporting fucking up islamic terrorists is a very common thing in christian circles simply because of the last 30 years, last 300 years, and last 1000 of history. You will find that outside of "stop dragging us into useless police action wars for profit" the moral concerns about bombing assholes whose chief priest was a pedophile aren't that strong.

The key difference here, dimwit, is that there's no pope. She has no power. Most people in protestant churches likely have no idea who that delusional woman is. There is no protestant heirarchy, and what she says has no authority over any other church.
Much like how the US government was originally built to decentralize power, the rejection of the catholic church was a rejection of centralized power. Unlike the pope, who claims to speak for god and has the authority to excommunicate people from the catholic organization.
