Not a good move unless this is some REALLY backroom deal to secure Iranian skies so Israel can't fire strikes no more with America in the way.
Too much of the MAGA base and those within the administration don't want ANY war so unless there is no further escalation from this, he risks losing HEAVY support come midterms.

This is a horrible idea, as much as I don't want a war with Iran, a war with Iran AND Israel is certainly worse.
Let Israel and Iran fire their missiles to their hearts content and stay out of it.
That's close to something I was thinking. The only real possible solution has to include telling Israel they are going to sit down and shut the fuck up.
My answer would actually be, okay we will go make sure Iran has no nukes. Your cost? Give us all of yours and denuclearize as well.
