While I'm sure its a lot of "tourists" being a problem, almost every major area on Earth of any value is suffering from the problem of "company/rich guy bought up all property to AirBNB it" destroying their local housing ecosystem.
One of my old apartments had one across the street, that was a constant influx of partiers who'd ruin any semblance of peace or cleanliness for the area, and then be gone in the week. Then a bunch of illegals would clean up the mess the day before someone else moved in, and repeat. And if they broke something major, it became the entire neighborhood's problem to fix, while they just dipped and the property owner (whose never been to this town) has a property manager and a lawyer show up to claim its not their problem because city loopholes and shit.
