You've pretty much described everything I hate about it. I just so rarely had fun. I haven't tried again because when I did play it was when I had game pass, so I guess game pass saved me from paying for that garbage. I'm going to replay 2016 soon, I think for the third or fourth time. Love that game.
I've been running through 2016 for the second time and it's just as good as I remember. I just wish the fucking map wasn't so ass and I didn't get lost so much.
Just follow the green lights. That was some brilliantly understated game design in my opinion. It was enough to guide the player without beating them over the head with a giant flashing quest marker.
