This was such a waste of taxpayer money and FTC's and Microsoft's time. Even after the acquisition, Microsoft only had like 13% of an extremely competitive market. And because of the time and money spent on fighting the FTC, EU, and UK, Microsoft is now even further behind, essentially has thrown in the towel on competing against PlayStation by going multi-platform, and now Sony basically has a monopoly on the high-end console market, leaving consumers across the globe worse off than ever.
Didn't Sony treat this acquisition as a mortal threat?
Which is ironic as the xbox might have helped sony become soyny in the first place.
