One of Trump's continued strengths in making himself appeal to us normal people, is that he is willing to directly interact with just random, non-politically useful people. He just does it because he has human likes, hobbies, and other experiences so he knows names and cares about things outside the specific groups everyone else is in.
Whereas most of Congress and many recent presidents were so insulated in "elite political circles" that they never developed an actual personality outside of political machinations. Anyone they met was related to their positions, their hobbies were approved by how the optics were, and their experiences were always extremely limited.
Its why guys like Bill Clinton and Reagan, for all thier faults, still resonate to this day with people while someone like Hillary or Kamala never once did. There was something like a human in there that you can just sense on an instinctual level.
what lows we have sunk to that making a phone call to a popular guy who got cancer is enough to spur on whole thoughts from onlookers that the president might actually be a human and not a reptiloid from the planet Kalugu 01.
for what it's worth i think trump's skinsuit is just more advanced.
I mean, Trump's original entire sales pitch was "not a politician" and it continues to prove how completely alien and out of touch all our politicians are that these acts aren't more common.

That's how I felt making that example about Bill Clinton, but it says a lot there how few actually even pretend to try in this regard given how effective a tactic it is.
Figured this was worth a look too after my last crosspost from TheDonald where I briefly mentioned Adams.
Two main things to consider; first being whatever Scott Adams' thoughts are regarding the calls, second that Trump called Adams in the first place, and not just once but twice. Third smaller point is again the discussion/comments over on the thread although most of it is unsurprisingly pointing out how kind Trump has been regarding this.
Trump has slashed the NIH budget including parts reserved for cancer research and pushed for elimination for cancer screenings for poor people (also early detection in cancer tends to lead to less expensive treatments) so I guess people with cancer can get fucked kek
I'm sure it'll balance out for more phone calls for more Scotts to come
Do you think the cures (plural because it's not even close to a "doctors hate this one simple trick" situation) for cancer are behind a paywall and just giving monkeys more money will inevitably create a cure?
The money is for highly intelligent, analytical people to get paid to work on the problem. Given that there are fewer of that sort of person in the NIH now than in the past, it's only right to slash their budget until they find more useful people. And it's up to the NIH to prove their good intentions by not taking any money away from researchers who actually do their job right before the administrative parasites are all gone. Rather than doing the opposite and making a big show of it to politically blackmail the gov to be allowed to keep wasting money.
I also can't find any evidence at all of trump wanting to eliminate cancer screening, and I'm going to need something to back that up because on the surface it sounds about as plausible as the claim that an 82 year old president wasn't screened for prostate cancer once in his entire 4 year term.
I'm sure what was cut is studying the effect of male-to-female hormones on cancer risk. Then the NPC chant becomes "cutting cancer research" because "cutting tranny cancer research" doesn't work.
Like I looked at a list of all the NSF grants that were canceled and I didn't find a single one that wasn't lefty bullshit. A few had titles that sounded okay, but even just reading the summary description made it clear they were lefty 'research'.

Good, people should get what they deserve, and Adams deserves infinitely more sympathy than Biden.
My only hope is the reaper claims his due with Biden without him ever hearing even any empty words of consolation from Trump in comparison.
