German soldiers were given plenty of accommodation (which I will remind you included travel to the US), and even in the event that they were given open ground: they are soldiers, they are fine with a tarp and a shovel because they were already living like that and are trained to live like that.

One of the worst offenders being, not US troops, but the Czechoslovakian National Socialists.
