My 10 year old nieces say "retard" pretty often. They must have picked it up within the past few months because I never heard them say it until recently.
I'll be honest, I was surprised at first when my brother didn't admonish them because he's an NPR listening normie.
I remember in school we'd call people "retards" on the playground. Nobody ever got butthurt over it except for someone once in a while until that person grew a spine like they're supposed to as they mature.
Of course it also helped that we didn't have social media at our fingertips to distract us from what was right in front of us, and immortalize the things we did so they could be held over our heads later.
