Labor has no inherent value whatsoever.
For labor to be valuable it must be wanted, warranted and have a positive outcome. Otherwise it is devoid of value.
Positive outcome not required, I think you mean "generate value."
A positive outcome to wanted and warranted labor is what generates value.
If you attempt to say, repair a car but fail, although it was necessary and desirable to do, you still did nothing of value.
It's the "and have a positive outcome" I take issue with as wanted labor can also have a negative outcome. Take for example Jaguar's rebranding and other DEI.
