We have permitted the porn industry to transform our society, and to shape the sexual desires of an entire generation. If we want this to stop, we should cut this poison off at the source.

19 results for "choking", only 3 for "strangulation" despite them being very different things that can both be tied to asphyxiation, and the former being significantly more dangerous. Unsurprisingly this panic piece fails to accurately and suitably address things.

Nearly no one outside of medical/forensics use them correctly. Mostly on account of combat sports just calling everything a chokehold.

And why doesn't anyone use "throttling" anymore?

I'd wager most people think of vehicles when throttling is involved instead of an action unrelated to throttles.
