That's disappointing. I already feel like there are too many characters to keep track of.
A trap that I call "character glut". DBZ is another good example, GoT is as well.
I wonder what the allure is for an author to do that. I feel like having a core of characters to really focus on is always better.
You're right. And I'd argue, the desire to seem more clever than they are. But it's incredibly easy to write yourself into a corner you can't get out of that way too.
