I hate to break it to some of you, and I guess this depends on your views of what constitutes life and what humans are.

If you believe in god, you likely dont need to read any further.

From the sounds of it, if we can believe the people who have claimed to excavate the bones of other races (denisovans, neanderthals), than the only reason we are even walking around is by these chance mutations.

It was a chance mutation that caused fish to start growing legs and walking out of the water, all things we can trace most of our roots back to.

I often think of that saying from star trek when I think about this.

Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations

We still carry that genetic baggage to speak. You guys ever hear of the dude born with a 3 chambered snake heart?

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC3014134/

Or how the embryo is going through every stage of evolution that humans have been through.

Embryological development does not directly "go through" the evolution of life in the way the theory of evolution describes it. Instead, embryonic development provides evidence for the evolutionary process by revealing similarities in early developmental stages between different species, suggesting a common ancestry. The "recapitulation theory," or "ontogeny recapitulates phylogeny," posits that embryonic development mirrors the evolutionary history of a species, but this theory is not entirely accurate.

The stage before humans, looks alien as FUCK.

In some cultures, hermaphrodites were worshipped as divine beings.

You guys ever wonder what humans are evolving into? If your into god, its pretty black and white of course, your not.

But evidence does suggest that humans and other animals/fish/insects, life, are evolving as well.

Towards what exactly?

The list of evolutionary oddities goes on and on. If you can move your auricula like elephants, it means you have useless but still-functioning muscles in your ears. The caudal vertebrae that are fused together under the pelvis are, in fact, the remnants of your tail, and the coccyx still serves as a point of attachment for some muscles.

Neat article that does a pretty good job of supporting evolution.

https://science.howstuffworks.com/life/evolution/evolution.htm

It is possible for the DNA of an organism to occasionally change, or mutate. A mutation changes the DNA of an organism in a way that affects its offspring, either immediately or several generations down the line.

The change brought about by a mutation is either beneficial, harmful or neutral. If the change is harmful, then it is unlikely that the offspring will survive to reproduce, so the mutation dies out and goes nowhere. If the change is beneficial, then it is likely that the offspring will do better than other offspring and so will reproduce more. Through reproduction, the beneficial mutation spreads. The process of culling bad mutations and spreading good mutations is called natural selection.

As mutations occur and spread over long periods of time, they cause new species to form. Over the course of many millions of years, the processes of mutation and natural selection have created every species of life that we see in the world today, from the simplest bacteria to humans and everything in between.

Evolution across mammals and higher life forms is excruciating slow, because of the lifetimes involved, but its much easier to see when they research different virus'ses and bacteria... like watching evolution sped up by a million.

The idea of that movie lucy is kinda based on this idea I read about evolution once where basically we would eventually reach a state where we can communicate with every cell in our body, meaning we wouldnt need to breathe air or eat/poop anymore, supposedly you would be able to manipulate reality around you so basically you would become some kind of god.

But I cannot find any sources talking about this and i know, its likely not true, but it still is a interesting thought project.

If you could control every cell in your body, you could change shape as well.

Ill stop this rant with a song by eleventyseven called weird ones.

Went on a trip that

Won't let me back

Where everybody

Was God in drag

Where nothing's true 'cause

Nothing lies

Where nothing's living

Cause nothing dies

We could be life climbing out of the ocean

We could be the lightning and the live wire

We could be the ones that survive the explosion

We could be the weird ones starting the fire

Ironically, eleventyseven is a very religious band. I dont know why but some of their older songs like (love in your arms) still sound good to me.

I get you wanted to get that all out, but it has nothing to do with this topic about genetic dead ends.

My dude, that wasn't a book on evolution, that was a book of fairytales. And you apparently believed it.
