I get the samefagging part but what is this weird vtuber culture in the first place? What are pros and antis? What point is the OP trying to shill and why? Why would anyone engage in this discussion? I'm not going to lurk moar because I don't really care. Just curious if anyone wants to answer.
vtubers are closer to pop idols than general streamers, so you get people obsessed with them in either positive or negative way on about the same level people get obsessed with Taylor Swift and the like
That kind of terminology dates back to the early days of the web. You’ve probably never encountered it because the kind of people who use it are completely insufferable (like yaoi fangirls) and at least used to avoid using it in person because people used to find shame undesirable.
