I'm watching the new season of that Wind Breaker show, it's pretty mediocre but I like fighting anime/manga and school shit so it's ok.
In one of the fights the pink haired metrosexual guy tells the guy he's fighting that being graceful and feminine aren't synonymous anymore or something like that. Pretty minor, but also pretty gay.
But I remembered that one of the school's team captains or whatever looked like a tranny and decided to look it up. And yeah he is. I don't know if they used the word tranny, the wiki says the author says he's a man. But it's kind of jarring to me to see this shit in a mainstream shounen show. I know Japan has always had some weird sexual shit, but I'm curious how common this has become now. I remember a couple times where gays or cross dressers were played for laughs, but I don't remember much of it being normalized, but I don't watch or read as much as anime/manga as I used to.
Lots of degenerate shit going on, but people either keep it in the closet or admit they are part of a weird alternative lifestyle. Even most gay men will tell you being a gay man isn't normal and they don't need it to be. There are places those people go to meet other likeminded freaks (like fur festivals here) but out in "mainstream" life if you act like a rainbow person you won't be treated seriously - unless you work at a western company or hip modern company full of westaboos like Atlus. I do think the forced gay marriage legalization is chipping away at their traditionalism though, just like it did in America.
As long as it's still looked at as weird and outside the mainstream that's good. As soon as it becomes normalized it's all downhill
Hard to say as look at series like JoJo, it's the most straight gay looking show. And then you got characters like Felix from Re Zero who is a guy dressed up as a cute cat girl.
They're quite open to mixing up aesthetically with cross dressing, they just don't go down the degenerate path the West has gone down with it, they leave that for the tentacles..
in like 90% of the trashy isekai theres a comic relief character that is a big muscly and possibly even hairy man but they wear a dress and have a womans hairstyle
i'm thinking the authors are trying to say something
More comedy than anything as remember puri prisoner from One Punch?
They've touched on the subject WAY better than the West have, in Log Horizon, because the players were put in the bodies of their avatars, some women looked like men and men as women. They dealt with that better than the shit I've seen in games especially.
Idk I know JoJo is flamboyant, but it's not literally gay (that I remember, I didn't finish it) and it's definitely not telling trying normalize faggotry from what I saw.
Rezero is newer, I never saw it but I do see this happening more lately. It's not like there's never been queers or crossdressers in anime, I'm just worried about the western style preaching and normalizing into mainstream Japanese culture. It's very obviously become less masculine to me lately, but it's held off the gay shit for the most part
I think one of the things that halts is that every western venture into anime tends to be lackluster or outright shit. .
Remember Suicide Squad? It was just boring even though it was made by WiT studios compared to the OTHER thing they made by them in the same season My Deer Friend Nokotan which was a giant shitpost.
cross dressers have been common in anime, both played straight and as a joke. The difference is they always call them men (or Women, if it's a case of a woman cross-dressing as a man like in Ocarina of Time).
Yeah idk, I remember them more being acknowledged as weird and they'd play it off as a joke when they made a character uncomfortable or something. Not here's a dude dressed as a woman, he likes makeup and girls clothes, it's normal, you should accept it. Feels like western faggotry rather than Japan's unique brand of degeneracy
I have it on good authority that majority of english teachers from the west are commies.
No doubt in my mind. I considered doing it and I could tell that was the crowd doing it. Funny how they love Japan so much but hate everything it stands for
It's been pretty common forever dude, not new at all. Even 80s and 90s anime had gay dudes and men that looked like women.
It feels different to me in more recent stuff though. More like western style normalizing it and preaching at you to rather than playing it for jokes when they make the main character uncomfortable or something
Since when do you watch anime? Or what is your knowledge of Japanese history/culture? LMAO
Regarding anime, have you watched Naruto (Haku)? Saint Seiya (Shun)? One Piece (LOTS, Izo for example)? Jujutsu Kaisen (Kirara Hoshi and Uraume)? etc. There have always been A LOT of crossdressers.
Dude, did you know that the first geishas were men? Or that samurai had personal girly boys to fuck? I don't know how, but Japan often produces guys with negative testosterone who naturally look like girls, it's kind of insane, lol. The main difference between Western and Eastern fags is that, even if they actually look or dress like women, they have the decency to admit that they are men.
It's gay, but it's been their culture for centuries, lol.
