They got a huge settlement from Minneapolis. I don't know how much they pocketed off donations. Supposedly they also sued Kanye West for $250 million, but I can't find any updates on that.
I don't know how much their attorneys pocketed that.
I also know that Mike Brown's family was also saying the same shit.
I would imagine that in both cases, some of it was pocketed by middlemen of one kind or another, but that they still received a sizable chunk of money, pissed it away, then complained that they didn’t get enough.
No, I know for sure Michael Brown's family basically didn't receive any of the donations that they were actually promised. It created some kind of legal action, and was one of the reasons that some of the Democratic AG's started going after BLM chapters. Had they embezzled money normally, they would have gotten away with it. Instead, they embezzled it by spending money like a 16 year old girl with her daddy's credit card.
Sorry, I wasn’t clear. I meant “some part of everything,” so even though the donations got stolen and there were lawyer fees on their lawsuit, I’m assuming they still got—and blew—at least a couple hundred thousand overall.
