Just watched the footage holy moly, that cop who got his ass beat and his cruiser taken from him really didn't want to get chauvin'ed.

Yeah, it's crazy.
As to what set him off, it seems like he didn't like being touched (pulled out of a traffic,) but before that, he was already out of his mind. That could have been a head injury, but more likely drugs and/or mental illness.
According to the original officer call in, it was reported that the dindu had wrecked his car.
