At worst Austin got physical first, against a belligerent and aggressive trespasser. As I said in the other comment, if Austin hadn't been murdered, no one would be criticizing his behavior in the slightest; it only looks bad in hindsight, because he was then stabbed to death.
They don’t have to have known each other or had a history for Austin to have been bullying
Yeah, I'm not going to condemn the dead kid without some real solid evidence. And I've already said he probably got physical first.
Also, if we're going to argue definitions, bullying - although not a requirement technically - is generally presumed to have an ongoing time factor; it's ongoing and repetitive. A first encounter would not meet the status of bullying, as most people think of it.
Another requirement of bullying is trying to dominate, and the belief that you're better than or above the victim you're bullying. There's no evidence of that here; Karmelo was where he wasn't supposed to be, and was asked to leave. That's not bullying; he was literally in the wrong.
...for Austin to have been bullying him by aggressively trying to get him to leave the tent.
Again, that's not bullying. It can be, sure, but it's not inherently. Especially with Karmelo's attitude.
So, yeah, I'm not jumping on the 'Austin was a bully' narrative. He may have behaved in an ill-advised manner, but that's about it, and that's mostly in hindsight. If Karmelo hadn't stabbed him to death, and had simply left, no one would have though less of Austin's behavior. It's only because he was murdered that we can pick apart his minor "failings" in the interaction.
I didn't say bullying, and I don't think he was. And, by all current information, they didn't even know each other.
I want to be very clear: I did not say, and I have no information that would lead me to believe, that Austin Metcalf was bullying anyone.

I’m not saying Karmelo is some innocent either as he engaged with lethal force where it was unwarranted.
Wait, stopping a thief from rummaging through other people's stuff is bullying? Bullying is a pattern of behavior not one interaction
Yeah, this is a terrible take from this dude.

Saying Austin was a bully is big retard energy.
