MS was EXTREMELY anticompetitive in the 80s/90s. Reminds me of an email leak during that time that revealed it was MS strategy to coerce and threaten companies into abandoning competitors like Linux.

It's why we are stuck with the rather awful microsoft word as the default word processor.
libre office for the win. I haven't used Microsoft word since 2008.
I still use wordperfect. It's just annoying always having to convert it to a docx though.

I know. When I got an IBM at that time, I was shocked it had Windows. Before this, computers had their own OS.
