The visual effects are just... gross looking. Like, in some shots, I can kinda, sorta see the appeal of up-rezzing Minecraft characters and seeing them do wacky things, even if the designs are ugly as sin to me. And then the humans come into play and everything looks like a horrible green-screen. It looks like the humans, the mobs, and the environments were all generated completely independently and then poorly compiled
But it's making a billion dollars. So what do I know?
Terminator 2, a movie about to turn 35 years-old, used CGI and still looks a million times better. Even the Star Wars prequels, despite the CGI looking dated, still manage to look better than this slop. And the saddest part is that I can't even tell anymore how much of this is a plain old DEI incompetence where they just don't have the skills to make it look passable, and how much is Hollywood Communists deliberately lowering standards and destroying beauty.
I can't believe how many millions they spent on this slop to still have an inch wide halo of green screen clearly visible around the actors for half the frames in this scene.
In their defense, there was a leaked "unfinished sfx" version that has made its way into tons of memes and videos, and the greenscreen trim/glow effect is characteristic of the effects as shown in that leak. Idk if this is unfinished footage or not. The music and length make me assume this clip is finished and that your comment really does pertain to the final product, but idk in reality.
Even without the faggotry, it gave me a visceral reaction of disgust. It's just butt-ugly visual chaos. It makes the Stars Wars Outlaws human mop-looking main character look like the Mona Lisa.
I'm not against Black Sabbath, but why in a children's movie in 2025? This isn't their parent's music at this point, this is their grandparent's music.
To say nothing of the appalling greenscreen and CGI. It's embarrassingly low-effort, which shouldn't be acceptable for children's entertainment.
This might or not be some deleted scene, gay either way and regardless of the year. Black Sabbath just does not fit a goofy kid's scene (for the sake of the argument, ignore the barely veiled pedowood programming), age doesn't matter. Post 50s rock was still prevelent in high school at least a decade ago, unless zoomers/alphas really became a warped monoculture since I was a youth.
I don't know how it kept getting gayer as the video progressed, but the sons of bitches managed to do it. Also what the fuck was going on in the background in the end? It legitimately looks unfinished. Was it seriously that bad in theaters? I'm straight up seeing those greenscreen lines on Jack.

This looks like footage from the Workprint copy that leaked early. It only had about 80% of CGI completed, so that's why it looks like this.
With that being said, this movie is still an absolute waste of time, but the more you know.

so you saw it too? Good. Thought I was going crazy.
There's a bootleg copy floating around that didn't go through the final CG rendering phases. This might be it.
'All-family appeal', they said.
The pink should have been a major clue.
Everything involving Jack Black is cringe and gay. Always has been.
That movie just looks terrible in every way.

Trash movie but with almost no competition and a big name behind it. There are a ton of kids that don't play minecraft but buy merch with it.

tl;dw: (2:22) Two men in 69 position while making obvious sexual puns.
While wearing the pink/blue troon colors?
This shit looks like it was made for an episode of SNL
Oh.. this is the movie with that fat baboon in it.

It's for children, not for og minecraft players.
