So duress is not a valid reason? 🙄 Thank you for your genius insight. 🤭
Again: (because you seem to have skipped it) I'm not saying THESE women were under duress, they clearly were not (since their accusations are all probably fabricated anyhow). I'm saying there have been many real-life examples of men or women who withheld going to police for a very real fear of retaliation and/or meeting a stone wall of protection.
"Oh I'm under duress, woe is me a poor helpless damsel who needs men to be emotionally manipulated into serving my whims. Oh whatever shall I do?"
They do it every time and you fall for it like a chump because you're a fucking idiot.
No I don't care if they brought receipts. Boy Who Cried Wolf is in full effect. It's always a lie now. We can revisit the issue later if women become property again, but as long as the legal system affords them any rights their tears are to be assumed to be malicious attempts at emotional manipulation. You either come forward when you've been victimized or you're a lying whore if you claim to have sat on it for years before bringing it up.
Duress, like anything else, has to be supported by evidence, just like the accusation.
A 14 year-old gets raped by the popular priest in a small town. Both of his/her parents don't believe it and threaten do disown them if they go to police. (They're 'devout' eh?) They mean it, they disowned an older child before. Kid goes to the school nurse, also 'devout' and is told to shut their lying mouth. That's duress. The police chief is the priest's brother. & etc.
That's a valid reason (not excuse).
Any accusation still needs to be backed up. "He said she said" is less believable as time passes, that's good because it's also harder to defend such empty accusations too.
But IF there's actual reasons? Then it can be taken seriously.
"I was in a coma for 20 years because he smashed my skull." NO EXCUSES!
"He locked me in is basement for 20 years, I just now escaped." NO EXCUSES!
Extreme? Yes very, but it's supposed to illustrate a point.
Anyhow, you do you! And I don't totally disagree, I just think there can be exceptions. Those exceptions must be scrutinized on their own merit. If they fail it reduces the odds of the accusation being true & should be taken into account.
Cheers!
You're an idiot.
