I have a few questions.
Is there a text that explains how repentance and forgiveness should work between men? And wishfully in that context, what repentance fully entails? The Lord's Prayer pleads God "forgive us our sins/debts/trespasses, as we forgive those who [sin] against us," but I think there must be some difference in a man's ability from God's to know someone's sincerity in repentance.
Then, I think there is some missing discourse about this (possibly) modern routine of publicized forgiveness. Wouldn't this go against the old teachings against what amounts to virtue signaling (e.g. don't pray out loud for others to hear)?
This guy probably doesn't actually forgive the fucker, he's just virtue signaling. True forgiveness is a personal matter between two people, not to be trumpeted on the daily news.
