Was it the one with the intelligence officer claiming so and then mysteriously being discovered dead 6 months later
No but I do remember hearing about a reporter who was looking into it and she conveniently committed suicide
Sounds like that Parallax movie.
The Parallax View? That was a very interesting movie.
It was a little tough taking Beatty seriously in that role as he was both playing smarter and dumber in that role. I think Richard Dreyfus might have been a little bit more believable as a guy who thought he was smarter than what he was but ended up being a puppet nonetheless.
They finally got to Donald Sutherland, too.
IMNHO it was a small internal faction of the CIA that recruited assets from a couple criminal groups to extend their reach.
I think that the conspirators then got one of their own put in charge of the investigation, and used that power to misdirect people, destroy actual evidence and generally cover things up.
I think that any worthwhile government records will have been destroyed decades ago.
