I'm hearing about this for the first time. Who was the politician with delusions of grandeur who made the threat? The ancestry you mentioned doesn't sound like Castro's son, which surprises me, because he would have been my first guess. Was it really Pollievre?
remember when canada honored a "Ukranian freedom fighter who defended the nation against russian aggression during WWII" (paraphrasing), and it turned out the dude was in a ukrainian SS division? his grandaughter made the comments...
It was Chrystia Freeland, second in the running to internally replace Trudeau as PM if he ever actually relinquishes power, who made the "we'll ally with European nations with nukes to deter American expansionism" delulu comments during the leadership campaign.
Oh, good. It's not someone important. Just an opportunist who saw a good moment to grandstand while turning on her former leader, showing how much loyalty she has. If I were being extremely charitable, I might think that her betrayal was due to her following her own moral values and beliefs, but the fact that she hasn't condemned most of Castreau's disastrous policies and stances shows that she's just putting on a show to gain power.
Freeland is still in Trudeau's government and was 2nd in command being Finance Minister and Deputy PM until before Christmas when she resigned her Cabinet post suddenly when it was revealed their deficit was 3x higher than predicted. And this was before all the tariff stuff.
She also somehow sits on WEF boards directly while being a sitting politician in power.
The only reason that she's not being installed to succeed Trudeau is that she's shrill and unlikable, while the elites have chosen another outsider WEF stooge in Mark Carney to crown instead.
The leadership candidate who wants to defend Canada with European nukes just happens to be the descendant of Ukrainian Nazis.

Important is relative.
