The social “sciences” were a byproduct of the slow march through the institutions and its peeling back to being on par with astrology is necessary for human survival going forward.

Leftism owes most of its success over the last century to how well it grabbed and abused Psychology to manipulate the masses. It peeled back the mechanisms for how the handful of naturals throughout history were able to leverage entire societies, and handed them out to everyone who was willing to handle it.

One of the reasons why the Right spent decades losing is because it refused to use the weapons the Left did, and instead just stuck to its guns that it would just work out because of their superior morality and high road. Throwing away everything the social "sciences" uncovered is the same failed path.

The evil someone chooses to use a weapon for doesn't make it a bad tool, whether that's a gun or an attempt at science.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Falsifiability

Falsifiability is what you mean. If someone makes a claim, then it is not scientifically sound until a test exists that could theoretically prove it wrong.

If I say, "If I cut my wrist, I will bleed." then it is falsifiable because someone who doubts you can simply cut their wrist open to test your theory.

If I say, "I was born a man, but I have the mind of a woman." then it is NOT falsifiable, as there is no way to actually challenge that belief.

When this is the case, it simply isn't science. It is on par with astrology, like you said.
