I'm fairly certain if the right to face your accuser were a standard practise in general law the accusations would go down.
As it is those who are persecuted don't know who their accused is and those who are protected from persecution have those they are abusing fearful, or in some cases impotent, of seeking justice.
That all said Keir Starmer covered up for Jimmy Savile and everyone enabling that is now culpable to that testament.

Funny you say that.
As an ex-marine was arrested and put into prison for twenty days for saying things regarding the tragedy in Southport and immigration that Welsh Labour politicians found objectionable.
He went on trial and earlier this week it took just 17 minutes for the jury to clear him. He had his trial fees paid for by the Free Speech Union.
I'm certain that those Labour politicians will face the consequences of their objections.
If they found a man speaking clearly, if somewhat clumsily (Apparently), to be a problem then perhaps the system which outfitted that man with his ability to express himself is ill-fitting and they represent that system, warts and all.
You're dead wrong. They are basically trying to formalize the behaviors of the old Title IX Tribunals from college. Frankly, I think that may have been done to normalize the behavior in the minds of the millennial generation.
Typically the police report the crime, then have the suspect arrested for it, then refuse to be identified because of "the threat of harassment", then refuse to show up to "protect the victims from the trauma of trial".
You are right but such a system is open to abuse and when the custodians show that they need guidance, as is the case here, it is down to will to show them that they are inept and powerless against the majority.
It's too bad Patrick Stewart forgets his own fucking message.
Then again, the whole thing was just further slander against HUAC & McCarthy who actually uncovered real Soviet activities.
What exactly would be Picards' argument be if 30% of Starfleet Intelligence worked with the Romulans, or if the UFP was regularly funding the Romulan Economy, and if each of the people being accused had not only communicated with the Romulans, but explicitly been funded and recruited by the Tal Shiar, and had explicit orders to engage in subversion, rioting, theft, and further infiltration.
Sure, we don't need to censor speech, but then again, it's not the speech that anyone was going at... it was the enemy operations.
As I said, despite this being a thing that has existed for YEARS under BOTH parties, only way this'll change is an outside force coming in and bitch slapping the UK establishment.
Which is why I'm looking forward to the Ofcom changes in July as I can see them trying to apply this to Twitter, Elon going to Trump and Trump just going ' hey UK, enjoy this 25% tariff for daring to fuck with the free speech of a US social media company'.
The UK Government will just respond back with "we're not stopping free speech, we're just confirming the age of website users like what several US states have done". If anything, the UK Government would just tell Elon to block the UK from accessing X (as well as VPN users) and it's what Elon should do. At least then, the public may start paying attention and kicking up a fuss.
Let's be honest, it's Trump in his FAFO stage, he'd tariff them even with their excuses till they capitulate.
The only countries so far safe from tariffs are Israel, Japan because they are investing more in the US and probably Poland if they can since they are one of the biggest buyer's of US military hardware.
If you are in the UK and you make public criticism of the Government, it would be advised to become a member of the Free Speech Union as an insurance policy. It's tragic that it has come to this.
At some point, I can't even muster sympathy for the British anymore. Like, its very well known and open that this will happen to you, they don't even bother to hide it. Criticizing the politics is just putting your hand into a viper nest for Youtube pennies or less, and if you think otherwise you are so naively blind to be retarded.
I know you can make all the arguments about being complicit by being too scared to stand up, but standing up alone with no plan is just suicide with no gain.

The jury cleared him?!!
Maybe we can save North Al-Andalus yet.
Damn, lol.
You can't fix a problem if you aren't willing to look at it honestly.
"Radical Acceptance of Reality" is an absolute imperative in defending yourself and other.
I prefer WinRAR.
The process is the punishment.

At least in a Cardassian show-trial you get honesty.
