Last night's funding freeze memo was exactly what Trump meant when he said that he intended to rule as a dictator.
Buried in its nonsense legal "justification" was language that made it clear that no matter what the laws that Congress passed said, he intends to apply an ideological filter to ALL spending.
He's made it clear that he will refuse to comply with the law when it runs counter to his whims.
That is not how the Constitution lays out the obligations and powers that the branches of the Federal gov't have, and it's not how the laws that specifically apply in this circumstance work.
Aside from the chaos that the memo has caused across the Federal gov't, and will continue to cause as it's litigated, this single memo makes Trump's vision for the scope of his powers clear.
He does not intend to comply with the laws that Congress passes.
He does not respect judicial precedent.
He barely recognizes any limits whatsoever to his power.
He believes that he was elected to be a dictator.
Even if you agree with his goals for controlling spending, this is not the way to achieve those goals. Do the work, earn the votes in Congress, and enact laws that will pass Constitutional muster.
The United States of America is not a dictatorship.
When a man has had bullets fired at his skull, I don't think words from the same people who wanted him dead (not to mention the same people who used both the judicial and executive systems as cudgels against him) will affect his rage.
In all honesty, this just reads like a typical anti-Trump copypasta from whatever political subreddits are being astroturfed on any given day, who gives a fuck.
Oh look at that.
Someone suddenly believes in the Constitution, separation of powers, tradition, precedent, restraint and fairness again.
Yeah, Trump's first 4 years weren't even close to a dictatorship, but maybe he learned from example in the interim about how much the rules are a mirage that only materializes when it matches the whim of the the biggest whip holder
-- Frank Herbert, Children of dune.
My response would be, "REEEE harder, Trump cannot hear you."
Your "lefty friends" are all dumb faggots.
Remind them to get flu, and covid shots. Then rile them up to see if they'll suddenly.
Be careful around any leftist "friends". The democrat party is a party of hatred, violence, and little else.
you can thank Abraham Lincoln and Obama for the increased powers of the executive branch. Trump is only using the tools he inherited.
Pretty sure there were a few other ones between Lincoln and Obama that increased executive authority. FDR, Eisenhower, George Bush.
Yes, but none more lionized by the left than Stinkin' Lincoln or Obummer
"Dear subhuman trash... "
"that's nice. You still lost, BTW" is my goto response to any leftist propaganda
So... The complaint is something is entirely legal, allowed to be discussed, debated, lobbied, etc, without obstruction of the State to empower one sole side... Is fascism... Because they aren't personally being given money.
Response set:
America first is the foundation that should apply to all laws.
Why do you think the people elected him? It's not to bandy away the wealth of the people on thanos glove snapping studies.
"Same. Congress does not represent me, they represent powerful international oligarchs who intend to keep all Americans under a state of perpetual poverty and debt slavery. I don't give a fuck what they say."
"I don't respect judicial precedent from a bunch of activists intent on enabling cartels either."
"His power was decided by the voters, in a landslide victory. He is doing as the people asked him to do."
"He's way more efficient than that vegetable that supposedly got the most votes ever. The economic situation worldwide already looks to be recovering."
"Congress is a money laundering operation for powerful megacorporations."
It sure was back in the Biden/Harris years. Soviet Russia and Nazi Germany at the height of their power would be taking notes.
Damn son.
Judicial precedent is gay lawyer faggotry. The law when written clearly does not need precedent to decide validity of interpretation. Too many times faggots have "interpreted" obviously wrong things and precedent has been trotted out to claim the moronic failings of others as sacred.
which parts of the constitution specifically is he ignoring? The executive has the specific right of veto. Generally the president doesn't drop the ban-hammer but he has that right if he chooses.
It sounds dramatic. It works like babies start at female. They don't want to know originally it's just an asshole, but then some of them grow out of it.
The man is running the country like its his own business, and now that it is his last term hes gonna do whatever he wants it looks like.
The man could barely run his "empire". All I can really picture is him going "your fired!" from his 10 years of tv acting.
God help us all.

What he means is, he knows he can make more money, and now hes in the best situation to do it. He doesnt actually care if americans have to pay more, thats not the problem.
Canada saying they are going to put on tariffs and use that money to support canadian workers, how by putting in the pockets of ceos and corrupt fuckheads?
God DAMN people are stupid.
