On June 14, 2024, Arc System Works, through their American branch announced a collaboration with Sanzigen Studios to produce an anime adaptation of Guilty Gear -Strive-, titled Dual Rulers. Given the blatant censorship plaguing the Guilty Gear franchise in...
I don’t think we can call it a localizer issue at this point; As I understand it, the creator actually came out in support of this. The strongest cope is that thanks to translation or cultural barriers, maybe he doesn’t really get exactly what he’s supporting, but that’s a cope. It’s more honest at this point to acknowledge that they made an unfaithful, ideological retcon that can and should be discarded by people who aren’t crazy troons, but will be presented as official going forward.
The creator did and he’s already been seeing the effects of it as most of the fans have not exactly been replaced by full numbers and losing sales

Akira Katano and Daisuke Ishiwatari themselves admitted to bending the knee. Let it rot.

Lol. That's horseshit. Bridget was the token cute girl for the game but Ishiwatari thought that wasn't eccentric enough, so they created his backstory. The joke was the same as it is with any other otokonoko char: draw a girl, call it a man and mock people calling them gay
This is still my reaction to Bridget being retconned: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5e7jJ_ZUy4
It's utter horseshit. Total character assassination.
western-centric worldview strikes again
I hate that the only thing talked about here when it comes to Guilty Gear is topics about Bridget, a friggen tertiary character to a fighting game line up.
Cancer starts small.
Because it involves a wedge issue that is hurting tons of easily impressionable and mentally ill children?
It's not that hard to understand.
What does the Japanese version say about him?
